Dessert Gallery Bakery & Café, 3600 Kirby, is marking Black History Month with a new collection of cookies honoring Black Houstonians.

The notable Houstonians include Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Rev. William A. Lawson, founder of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, KHOU “Great Day Houston” host Deborah Duncan, and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles.

The cookies, $4.75 each, are available at the bakery throughout February; also available for pre-order in advance. Dessert Gallery is donating 10 percent of all sales from the Black History Month cookies toThe Ensemble Theatre, dedicated to preserving African American artistic expression.
