Jasper’s in the Woodlands closes over rent issues

The restaurant at 9595 Six Pines on Market Street was apparently locked out of its space for nonpayment of rent

Jasper’s Restaurant, the upscale casual dining concept that opened in the Woodlands in 2005, has closed.

“We are closed because of a tiff with our landlord and will keep you posted. Thank you for your support and understanding,” reads a brief note on theJasper’s website.

But the restaurant at 9595 Six Pines on Market Street was apparently locked out of its space for nonpayment of rent. According totwtx.co website, which first reported the closure, the restaurant is behind in rend more than $250,000 and the landlord has terminated its lease.

Jasper’s originally opened as a sibling concept to chef Kent Rathbun’s upscale Abacus in Dallas.
