Houston-born film director Richard Linklater’s latest film, the animated “Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood,” is set in late ‘60s Houston and centers on a boy chosen for a secret NASA mission. So what better place to show it than at NASA?
That is exactly what happened Wednesday night as the movie, which begins streaming on Netflix Friday, was screened for NASA employees at Space Center Houston. Among those in attendance were Linklater, producer Mike Blizzard (who also grew up in Houston), producer/animator Tommy Pallotta and some of the children in the cast.
The film lands on Netflix Friday after a short theatrical run at the Alamo Drafthouse LaCenterra Katy and the Cinemark 18 in Webster.
