Paloma was crowned the inaugural winner of "Drag Race France" this month, besting a fierce crop of competitors in one of the most enjoyable runs in recent memory. Her runways were spectacular, equaled by her sharp comedy and acting skills.

Paloma will tour through France and has upcoming TV and theater projects. When is the U.S. invasion?

We spoke about the origins of Paloma, what runway look makes her cry and being a "fab" child. Read below and watch the video interview above.

您能描述您发现自己是赢家的那一刻吗?

Wow, it was very wild. I was not prepared to receive so much love. When I started "Drag Race," I was very focused on the prize. I was very focused on the win. I wanted to win. But the love I received was very, very new to me. I'm not used to love like that. Thousands and thousands and thousands of people saying your name at the same time. Yes, I'm Madonna now.

What did you learn about yourself and your drag from the show?

A big part of Paloma is inspired by the movies. I am an actor and a movie director, and I'm a movie watcher. When I was a teenager, I discovered Pedro Almodovar, the Spanish director, and I was very inspired by the actresses in (his) movies. Strong women with colorful costumes. Also, I will say Paloma is a mix between Daphne from "Scooby Doo," Endora from "Bewitched" and Mylene Farmer, who is a very important singer in France. And also, another inspiration in my drag is definitely Patsy Stone in "Absolutely Fabulous."

Do you remember the moment you realized drag was what you wanted to do?

I tried. Maybe five years ago, I discovered "Drag Race" America, and it was a shocking point for me. I realized drag is an art. Not just a hobby or something crazy for the night. It's a f****ng art. I related, and I want to do it. Four years ago, I wrote a script called "Paloma," a short movie I directed. It's a love story between a drag queen and a truck driver. It's inspired by the love story in "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert."

You had so many incredible runway looks. Which was your favorite?

It's not the most impressive look for American viewers, but the Mylene Farmer is very special for me. I was telling a story about me, about my childhood. The other looks are very drag, very campy, maybe more relatable for American viewers. But this one was very special for me. I grew up listening to her music. When I was a little kid, alone and sad, she was like my fairy (god)mother, telling me, "It's OK, it's gonna be fine. I'm here." This look was a love letter to Mylene Farmer. I cannot watch it without crying. I'm not just walking in her clothes. I'm literally embodying her. It's so pretentious what I'm saying, but I became her. And if you want a little secret, when I left the stage the first time after the runway, I literally cried because it was so much for me to embody her energy.
