5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin was taken to a local hospital during a show Sunday at the Woodlands Pavilion.

In a Tik Tok video, a crew member is seen asking the crowd to move "safely and calmlyto the exits." The band played for 45 minutes.

The band posted an update Monday afternoon toInstagram Storieswith more details.

"As you may have heard, last night's show ended early due to a medical incident during the show. Upon experiencing physicl symptoms, Ashton was taken to a local hospital for tests and medical review. As a result, it was advised that Ashton had experienced extreme heat exhaustion. Thankfully and most importantly, he is feeling ok and recovering very well. We apologise to all the fans in attendance for the show being cut short."

Temperatures yesterday reached triple digits in the Houston area. Heat has often been an issue for artists and fans at outdoor shows and festivals.

Ticketholders will be updated via email on next steps. The group's show was originally scheduled for June 2021 at Woodlands Pavilion and moved to June 2022.
