Is Coldplay the next great country band?

The band performed Sunday night at NRG Stadium, and amid all thegrand pop spectacle, they slowed things down for a twangy dedication to the city. See the below video.

During a stripped down set on a small stage near the back of the venue, Martin introduced a song written about the band's long road to Houston. A 2017 show at NRG Stadium was canceled because of Hurricane Harvey.

The song, "Houston No. 2," was an updated version of an original they performed in Miami just after the 2017 cancelation.

"This is because we all grew up loving country music, and of course that's kind of what we think of when we go to Texas," Martinsaid in 2017. "This is a new song, and we'll never play this again. It's a once off and it's called 'Houston'."

Since they changed the lyrics, it's technically a different song. Read the lyrics below. Then, let's start the campaign for Coldplay at RodeoHouston. They certainly know how to tame the stadium.

"Houston No. 2" lyrics:

"I am dreamin' of when I go back to Houston

I am dreamin' of that very lovely place

I'm dreamin' of when Houston has no problems

In that city where they send you up to space

I am dreamin' of when I go back to Texas

Corpus Christi, Harris County, Galveston

There's a harmony that bonds down there in Houston

Oh, Houston, got to keep on keepin' on,

Five years have gone by, and now we're here in Houston

I'm so happy that you made it through the rain

I know nothin's gonna break the will of Houston

No one in Houston is scared of a fuckin' hurricane

I am dreamin' of when I am back in Texas

San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Galveston

And there's a harmony that bonds down there in Houston

Oh, Houston got to keep on keepin' on

Oh, Houston you got to keep on keepin' on

Yea, Houston, got to keep on keepin' on"
